Cool Rain in the Park

Public Service Announcements
Date: Thursday, 20th July 2017 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

Venue: Caldwell Park  |  City: Pocatello, United States

One of the Pocatello Fire and Police Departments’ most popular summertime events will be returning later this month. Starting June 22 at noon, firefighters and officers will join forces to bring “cool rain” to Alameda Park. During the event, firefighters station an engine in the park and turn the hoses on, giving park-goers a chance to cool off in the simulated rain. Firefighters and officers will also be on hand to talk to children about bullying, smoke alarms, and home escape planning. “This is a great opportunity to come learn a little bit, meet your local police officers and firefighters, and get a break from the hot weather,” said Kim Stouse, Community Relations/Education Specialist with the Pocatello Fire Department. Tentatively, cool rain events have also been planned for Thursday, July 20 at Caldwell Park and Thursday, August 10 at Raymond Park. All events begin at noon, will last approximately a half-hour, and are weather/emergency call permitting. For more information on the cool rain events, visit the Pocatello Fire Department Facebook page or contact Kim Stouse, Pocatello Fire Department Community Relations/Education Specialist, at 208-234-7083.
